Who we are

Listen Flow is made by Klaas Kleiterp, trading as Sir Render, Haarlem, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 69599394). Contact: klaas@sir-render.film.

We are the controller only for the few personal data we actually receive: emails you send us and the technical logs of this website. What the app does with your texts happens on your device. What ElevenLabs does with them happens under your own account and agreement with ElevenLabs.

What stays on your device

• Texts you have read aloud, with a bookmark, so you can continue where you left off. They are kept for 30 days after you last listened, or longer if you give them a star. You can delete them yourself at any time. On iPhone they are excluded from iCloud backups.
• Audio of texts you have heard, so listening again costs nothing. When the app starts, audio that has not been played for 30 days is removed.
• Your settings, such as the chosen voice and speed.
• Your ElevenLabs key, only in the keychain of your device. It is never in the app's code, in logs or anywhere else.

Screenshots and screen areas are read on the device itself and are never stored. Only the recognised text remains. Listen Flow never logs the content of what you have read aloud.

Text from other apps on a Mac

On a Mac, ⌥L reads text from the app under your pointer, using the Accessibility permission you give in System Settings. That text can contain other people's personal data, for example an email or a message. It stays on your Mac unless you use an ElevenLabs voice with your permission. Listen Flow never reads from password and keychain apps or from password fields.

What goes to ElevenLabs

If you choose an ElevenLabs voice, Listen Flow first asks for your explicit permission. With your permission, the text you have read aloud is sent from your device directly to ElevenLabs, with your own ElevenLabs key, to turn it into speech. Listen Flow sends the passage you are about to hear plus a little of the surrounding text, so the intonation sounds natural, and fetches up to about fifteen seconds ahead.

ElevenLabs is based in the United States and processes this text under its own privacy policy and your agreement with ElevenLabs. ElevenLabs keeps your requests in the history of your ElevenLabs account; you can delete them there. You can withdraw your permission at any time in the app's settings; the free Apple voice then reads aloud on your device, without sending anything.

What Apple provides

For the App Store and TestFlight version: if you have chosen to share analytics with developers in your device settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us. We only use these to fix problems. This does not apply to the Mac version you download from this site.

Emails to us

If you email us, we use your email address and message to answer you (legal basis: our legitimate interest in handling your question). We keep them as long as needed for that, at most two years.

This website

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States, certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Like any web host, Vercel briefly keeps technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure (legal basis: legitimate interest). The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads its fonts from this site itself.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, which in practice is only your emails to us, and you can object to their use. We answer within a month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

To remove everything Listen Flow stored: delete your texts in the app and use "Delete key" in Settings before you delete the app. On iPhone, a fresh install also starts without the old key. On a Mac, the app's data is in the folders named film.sirrender.listenflow.mac under Library, Application Support and Caches. Requests stored in your ElevenLabs account remain there until you delete them at ElevenLabs.

Children

Listen Flow is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date. If the change affects what is sent to ElevenLabs, the app asks for your permission again.

Wie we zijn

Listen Flow is gemaakt door Klaas Kleiterp, handelend als Sir Render, Haarlem (KvK 69599394). Contact: klaas@sir-render.film.

Wij zijn alleen verwerkingsverantwoordelijke voor de paar persoonsgegevens die we echt ontvangen: mails die je ons stuurt en de technische logs van deze site. Wat de app met je teksten doet, gebeurt op je toestel. Wat ElevenLabs ermee doet, gebeurt onder je eigen account en je eigen overeenkomst met ElevenLabs.

Wat op je toestel blijft

• Teksten die je liet voorlezen, met een bladwijzer, zodat je verder kunt waar je was. Ze blijven 30 dagen na de laatste keer luisteren staan, of langer als je ze een ster geeft. Je kunt ze altijd zelf verwijderen. Op de iPhone gaan ze niet mee in iCloud back-ups.
• Audio van teksten die je hoorde, zodat opnieuw luisteren niets kost. Bij het starten van de app gaat audio weg die 30 dagen niet is afgespeeld.
• Je instellingen, zoals de gekozen stem en snelheid.
• Je ElevenLabs sleutel, alleen in de sleutelhanger van je toestel. Nooit in de code van de app, in logs of ergens anders.

Schermafbeeldingen en schermgebieden worden op het toestel zelf gelezen en nooit bewaard. Alleen de herkende tekst blijft over. Listen Flow logt nooit de inhoud van wat je laat voorlezen.

Tekst uit andere apps op de Mac

Op de Mac leest ⌥L tekst uit de app onder je muis, met de toestemming Toegankelijkheid die je in Systeeminstellingen geeft. Die tekst kan persoonsgegevens van anderen bevatten, bijvoorbeeld een mail of bericht. Hij blijft op je Mac, tenzij je met je toestemming een stem van ElevenLabs gebruikt. Listen Flow leest nooit uit apps voor wachtwoorden en sleutels of uit wachtwoordvelden.

Wat naar ElevenLabs gaat

Kies je een stem van ElevenLabs, dan vraagt Listen Flow eerst uitdrukkelijk om toestemming. Met je toestemming gaat de tekst die je laat voorlezen rechtstreeks van je toestel naar ElevenLabs, met je eigen ElevenLabs sleutel, om er spraak van te maken. Listen Flow stuurt het stuk dat je zo gaat horen plus een beetje tekst eromheen, voor een natuurlijke intonatie, en haalt tot zo'n vijftien seconden vooruit op.

ElevenLabs zit in de Verenigde Staten en verwerkt die tekst onder zijn eigen privacybeleid en je overeenkomst met ElevenLabs. ElevenLabs bewaart je verzoeken in de geschiedenis van je ElevenLabs account; daar kun je ze verwijderen. Je kunt de toestemming altijd intrekken in de instellingen van de app; dan leest de gratis Apple stem voor op je toestel, zonder iets te versturen.

Wat Apple aanlevert

Voor de versie uit de App Store en TestFlight: heb je in de instellingen van je toestel gekozen om analysegegevens met ontwikkelaars te delen, dan kan Apple ons anonieme crashrapporten en gebruiksstatistieken geven. We gebruiken die alleen om problemen op te lossen. Dit geldt niet voor de Mac versie die je van deze site downloadt.

Mails aan ons

Mail je ons, dan gebruiken we je mailadres en bericht om je te antwoorden (grondslag: ons gerechtvaardigd belang om je vraag af te handelen). We bewaren ze zolang dat nodig is, hooguit twee jaar.

Deze website

Deze site draait bij Vercel Inc. (Verenigde Staten, gecertificeerd onder het EU-VS Data Privacy Framework). Zoals elke webhost bewaart Vercel kort technische logs, zoals IP-adressen, om de site veilig te houden (grondslag: gerechtvaardigd belang). De site zet geen cookies, gebruikt geen analyse en laadt zijn lettertypen van de site zelf.

Je rechten

Je kunt ons vragen de persoonsgegevens die we van je hebben in te zien, te verbeteren of te verwijderen, in de praktijk alleen je mails aan ons, en je kunt bezwaar maken tegen het gebruik ervan. We antwoorden binnen een maand. Je kunt ook een klacht indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Alles weghalen wat Listen Flow bewaarde: verwijder je teksten in de app en gebruik "Sleutel verwijderen" in Instellingen voordat je de app verwijdert. Op de iPhone begint een nieuwe installatie ook zonder de oude sleutel. Op de Mac staan de gegevens van de app in de mappen film.sirrender.listenflow.mac onder Bibliotheek, Application Support en Caches. Verzoeken in je ElevenLabs account blijven daar staan tot je ze bij ElevenLabs verwijdert.

Kinderen

Listen Flow is niet op kinderen gericht en verzamelt bewust geen gegevens van hen.

Wijzigingen

Verandert dit beleid, dan staat de nieuwe versie op deze pagina met een nieuwe datum. Gaat het om wat er naar ElevenLabs gaat, dan vraagt de app opnieuw om toestemming.
